Our membership of Supply Nation reinforces our commitment to diversity both within our workforce and procurement processes.
Supply Nation connects its membership to Indigenous suppliers to build a vibrant and prosperous Indigenous business sector by incorporating Indigenous owned businesses into the supply chain of Australian companies and government agencies.
Supply Nation’s mission is to facilitate, encourage and promote business between corporate Australia and Government agencies and Indigenous owned businesses.
Harvey Norman Commercial Division NSW & ACT has a history of initiatives designed to help close the gap for Australia’s Indigenous peoples and communities. These initiatives include:
• Career Progression Plans for our Indigenous Employees.
• Working with Reconciliation Australia to further develop a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) .
• Increasing Indigenous employment through affiliation with impactful partners.
Our membership of Supply Nation provides opportunities for more of our staff to be involved in initiatives designed to promote greater inclusion of Indigenous people. We recognize the value of a diverse supply chain to drive innovation and flexibility within our organisation, and we also believe that by ensuring that our procurement decisions include Indigenous businesses, that we can contribute to greater economic empowerment of First Australians and contribute to ‘closing the gap’.
Our client base, both private and Government have Indigenous Procurement Targets in place which means they will give preference to Supply Nation Approved Partners when it comes to Tenders and Procurement of all our goods and services. It is important for us all to familiarise ourselves with our Indigenous and Social Inclusion Plans which not only increase the living standards of the less fortunate yet they give us an edge over our competitors who do not have this critical accreditation.
In discussions with Supply Nation, the Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Laura Berry, said “we are delighted to welcome Harvey Norman Commercial Division NSW & ACT into the Supply Nation program and look forward to working with them to develop their supplier diversity footprint in Australia”.
