WELS is Australia's water efficiency labeling scheme that requires certain products to be registered and labeled with their water efficiency in accordance with the standard set under the national Water Efficiency Labeling and Standards Act 2005.

The water-using WELS products are:

• Lavatory equipment, toilet pans, cisterns, flushing mechanisms, suites and urinals (excludes waterless urinals)
• Showers
• Taps for use over basins sinks or tubs (excludes baths)
• Flow Controllers
• Washing Machines including combination washer/dryers
• Dishwashers
